•Course Purpose
This course focuses on design practice through diesel engines. Students will learn how to determine the dimensions of a small diesel engine for common purposes.

Introduction to Automotive Engineering
Design Practice 1

•Course Topics
1 Outline of diesel engines
2 General design for practical motorcars
3 Calculation of diagrams for pressure
4 Sketches of engine parts
5 Design of main parts (*A piston and a combustion chamber, a coupling rod,
a crank shaft, and a balance weight)
6 Exercises of technical drawings

You may need to do drawing outside the course hours.

Grades will be based on practice performance.
Students must obtain a score of 60 or higher to pass the course.
Grades: S: 100-90, A: 89-80, B: 79-70, C: 69-60, F: 59-0.
